The Advocate is Simon Robinson. He has been involved in music on a professional basis since the age of 17. He has recorded sessions for John Peel, written music for Film and Television and has previously recorded under the names of Zero Zero for Kickin’ Records and in the band Parchman for XL Recordings.
He started out with the track 'Arabian Sugar' under the guise 'Third Wave' which was a collaboration with Ivor Perry (Easterhouse). The track was released on Manchester label - Bop Communications - and received rotation by John Peel amongst other experimental DJ's.
'Thank God For Evil' was the first release as Zero Zero on Minimal Records. Another Peel favourite, the track helped secure a session on the legends radio show. Following this success, Zero Zero signed to Kickin' Records with the help of DJ Hype.
Ground breaking records such as The Sanity Clause and Zeroxed established Zero Zero on the international platform with gigs supporting The Prodigy and The Shamen.
Simon then went to Law School for too many reasons to mention here... At Law School he started the label Criminal Communications which gave birth to The Advocate!
