Artist and producer The Sweet Chap, AKA Mike Comber has always liked to do things differently.

The Brighton born musician is working on many projects both as a solo artist and collaborator. His current album Disco For A Domestic was released last year. The sound of DFD follows where acts like Tricky, Portishead and Massive Attack left off – a hybrid of dark pop, blues, hip hop and soul but with the thud of programmed beats, and mutterings of twisted samples and synth to thread it all together. The album lyrically and musically captures The Sweet Chap’s interpretation and observations of normal day contemporary lifestyle: of work, of relations, of change and accepting or not accepting it. It is at times stark and at other times crooked, but it also has moments of delicate beauty and bare honesty.

On top of all this The Sweet Chap has collaborated on a number of tracks with The Advocate. The sound is one of a dark melancholic beauty that is both powerful and ethereal.
